It seems your e-mail got lost in the shuffle of my inbox. The IA grants NRCS permission to use the IA technical papers from past years for the NRCS Toolbox. The only requirement is that if the IA papers are used, they are properly cited on any work that is completed. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information. You’re correct that IA holds the copyright of the papers. Kathy, can you get Peter started on the road to copyright permission? Many Thanks. todd From: Robinson, Peter - Portland, OR [mailto:Peter.Robinson@por.usda.gov] Sent: Tuesday, May 05, 2009 10:10 AM To: Trooien, Todd Subject: IA paper availability Todd, I understand that you are the chair of the IA Tech Conference committee. I am putting together an Irrigation Toolbox for NRCS. The ToolBox will be a DVD containing various irrigation resources. In fact, the ToolBox will available on a variety of media, e.g. DVD, Flash Drives, and SD cards. While I don't expect massive copying, there will be no prohibition on making copies of the files. I would like to be able to include IA papers from past years. However, I assume that all the IA papers are copyrighted. What steps do I need to do to request permission?
